OF AGREEMENT
|
|
| BOG = Board of Governors | |
| 1. |
Every
crewman has a vote in affairs of moment; has equal title to fresh
provisions or strong liquors at any time seized and use them at pleasure
unless scarcity makes it necessary for good of all to vote a retrenchment.
|
| The general membership has the ability to vote. And any food or drink brought to a a gathering or event to be shared, will be shared by all members in attendance. So bring enough for everyone. | |
| 2. | Every man to be called fairly in turn. |
| One Man. One Vote. | |
| 3. | All newly signed shall buy the first round of rum... in turn. |
| This is tongue in cheek. Unless you really want to then we wont object. | |
| 4. | All
members to keep their piece, pistols, and cutlass clean and fit for service.
( This here be a safety issue. Dirty gear equals nasty accidents) |
| This is a safety concern. It is not the responsibility of the Gunner or the BOG to keep your equipment in good working order. All weapons will be checked prior to an event by a BOG Officer. | |
| 5. | That man that shall not keep his arms clean, fit for an engagement, or neglect his business, shall be cut off from his share, and suffer such other punishment as the Captain and the company shall think fit. |
| If your gear or weaponry is not in good working order. You may be asked to not participate until such time as you've "clean up your act". | |
| 6. | To desert the ship or their quarters in battle is punished with Death or Marooning. |
| Don't make someone have to come looking for you. If you are supposed to be somewhere at a certain time and are expected to be be there. Be there. If you ride with someone. Don't make other arrangements and not notify that person. Basically, keep in contact. If we do what is expected of us the ship sinks. | |
| 7. | That
man that shall strike another while these articles are in force, shall
receive Mosess Law (that is 40 Stripes lacking one) on the bare
back or put ashore and settled with sword, pistol or he be maroond.
(Ifinya can not behave yourselves, you will be dealt with appropriately) |
| No fighting. Nothing is so bad as to resort to blows. If it is. We will organize it and sell tickets. | |
| 8. | Captain and Quartermaster to receive two shares of a prize; Master, Boatswain, and Gunner, one share and a half, and other officers one and a quarter. |
| This is a historical reference. All articles contained a break down of how the loot, plunder or prize was divvied up. | |
| 9. | All crew when officially gathered in public shall be dressed appropriately Use of fabrics in the poly or man made fibers variety is forboddin unless previously approved by the Quartermaster. Strive for accuracy. Steal the rest. |
| Regardless of the period you wish to portray. We ask that you strive to be as historically accurate as you can or can afford. We will not be so stringent that if you aren't wearing the appropriate underwear you can't play. But don't wear tennis shoes and expect to work a public event. Allot of issues can be headed of by just sticking to leather, natural fibers and colors that would have been around. If you have a question about a fabric or something you want to put in your pirate kit (Those things you use to be a pirate) just ask the Quartermaster or any member of the BOG. | |
| 10. | No lead or powder shall be carried unless it be a live fire event or by permission of the Gunner. |
| Unless the meeting or event is a blank or live fire event. Don't bring ball or powder unless you clear it with the Gunner or a BOG Member first. If a meeting or event is a blank or live fire event you will be notified before hand. | |
| 11. | That
man that shall snap his arms, or smoke tobacco in the hold, without a
cap to his pipe, or carry a candle lighted without a lantern, shall be
stricken from all explosive activities until time that the Gunner feels
he is fit to return to duty. No rum or grog is permitted until all guns
are stowed. (Explosives + Accidental Fire = Unexpected Boom. Unexpected Boom = you dont get to play) |
| At blank or live fire events there may be a central powder area. Especially if it is a cannon event. NO SMOKING or snapping of flints or caps near the powder magazine. No clearing of weapons when not on the firing line. A safety inspection will be performed by the Gunner and BOG Members prior to the event. So don't pre load anything. No drinking till everything is put away. Not just your stuff. | |
| 12. | If at any time you meet with a prudent woman, that man that offers to meddle with her, without her consent, shall suffer present death. |
| This is another historical entry but still holds today. No unwanted advances upon the women folk. One, most of them can shoot and fight better than you. Two, while at an event you represent everyone else in the crew. Do not give this crew a bad name for trying to force yourself on someone else. | |
| 13. | That man that shall breed a Mutiny Riot on Board the ship, shall lose his shares and receive such Corporal punishment as the Capt. and major part of the Company shall deem fit. |
| This group is ever changing as it grows in membership. But it is still primarily run by the BOG. If you have an issue feel free to bring it to the attention of the membership at an open meeting or bring it to a BOG Member and we will discuss it. There is no reason for a member to harbor ill will to themselves or start the rumor mill running. | |
| 14. | Any person who shall count to his own use any part of the Prize or Prizes , to the value of a piece of eight, or be found pilfering any money or goods, and be convicted thereof, he shall be maroond or shot. |
|
You steal from someone your gone. That simple. You may
even be prosecuted if the offense warrants.
